Using Randall's Online Resources from Off-Campus:

Print Resources (Books and Government Documents):

Articles (also known as literature, scholarly literature, peer reviewed articles, etc.)

  1. Search an appropriate database (Library website - "Databases & Articles" - "By Subject" Column: Nursing)

CINAHL (Cumulative Index of Nursing and Allied Health Literature)

    Gale Nursing Resource Center

    PubMED

    CINAHL and PubMed Tutorials

For testing instruments, use Mental Measurements Yearbook

  2. Determine if Randall Library has the article you need
    1. If the full text is available, download the article

    2. If the full text is not available: Go to the Library website - "Search Catalog" - click on "Journal Title" - type in the full name (not an abbreviation) of the JOURNAL you are looking for (not the title of the article)(i.e. Journal of the American Medical Association)

    3. Determine if Randall has access to the specific volume/year that your article was published in

    4. Retrieve article online through the catalog "record" (the catalog record will give you a link to the database the full-text is available in for a specific set of years)

    5. If Randall does not have access to the article, you will need to utilize ILLiad (Interlibrary Loan) in some cases to retrieve articles Randall does not own.
