Landmark Project Committee UNCW
1983-1988
The purpose of the Landmark Committee was to develop
a plan for a University Landmark incorporating the history of Southeastern North
Carolina, the present and future of UNCW. Boney Architects were
commissioned to take the Committee ideas and research and develop a Landmark
Monolith with appropriate landscaping for the University Commons. The
Committee and ultimately the plans, were abandoned in 1988, after nearly five
years of work.
