Gayle Tustin

Artist

Gayle Tustin was born in New Castle, Pennsylvania. She received a Batchelor of Arts in Fine Arts with honors from the University of North Carolina at Wilmington, Wilmington, North Carolina in 1996. Gayle also studied ceramics and sculpture at Alfred University, Alfred, New York and Penn State University, University Park, Pennsylvania.

She has received several awards in ceramic art and completed many commissioned murals. Gayle is co-founder of No Boundaries, Inc., an organization that grew out of the experiences of three local Wilmington artists. Gayle, Pam Toll, and Dick Roberts, participated in an artist retreat held in Macedonia over a five year period in the 1990s. Out of their international experiences No Boundaries, Inc. was created. The first gathering was held at Bald Head Island, North Carolina in the fall of 1998.

The collection includes sketchbooks and other materials from Gayle’s early career as an artist beginning in the 1980s.

This collection was donated to William Madison Randall Library by Gayle Tustin.
