Archives - Records Management
One role of UNCW Archives is to answer questions from UNCW departments and divisions about records management.
As an agency of the state of North Carolina, the university is expected to follow state guidelines concerning retention and disposition of records produced in the course of business. Many departments at UNCW already have records schedules which were written and customized by archives. These schedules instruct you of when to dispose of inactive records, when to retain them for your files, and when to transfer them to archives.
If you do not have a schedule or if you have questions about your schedule, please contact the archivist (962-4233).
