Scope and Content Note
This collection includes photographic prints ranging in size from wallet-size and smaller to 8 x 11 inches and some oversized
prints. There are color as well as black and white images. There are also slides, negatives, and print-outs of digital images.
The different photographic formats are interfiled with one another. The collection is comprised of 12 series: Views; Athletics;
Buildings and Structures; Departments; Events; Groups and Associations; Portraits; Logos, Symbols and Artwork; Negatives;
Slides; Unidentified; and Non-UNCW. Many of these images originated in the Office of University Relations, once called Development
Office and/or Support Services.
This collection brings together prints, slides and negatives from various offices and donors. In many cases, the name(s)
of the office of origin and/or donor are included in the file folder titles. Often, when there is no named donor or office
of origin, the office of origin is University Relations, Development or Support Services. However, this is not always the
case. A careful inspection of the images and file folder may help the researcher determine the office of origin or donor.
