1. Minutes of Last Meeting

Agenda for the current meeting was approved after moving Item 2 and Item 3 to
be discussed at 11:00 a.m.
2.
Millennium Serials Beta
Testing Update
The
testing is over but it still freezes up at times. Be aware of shortcuts even though it saves time.
Arlene recommended setting up test records.
She is not 100% satisfied but it is an improvement.
3.
E-Journal Projects Update
E-journals
will take some time to process. Plans
are to go through the list and add holdings to catalogs.
Dan will see if stats for NC
Live can be made available to the Consortium.
ERIC is available in full-text; however, it is expensive.
There is a considerable discount if you also have a subscription.
The advantages and disadvantages of SilverPlatter were also discussed.
4.
INNOPAC Enhancements, New
Products, and Equipment purchases
Dan
passed out a list of topics for discussion and feedback from the committee.
In reference to Item 2 & 3 from the list, Dan suggested that
it is time that we should all consider changing our logins and passwords.
Logins should be forwarded to him as decisions are made.
For Items 9, 22 and 23, The Committee agreed to ask
INNOVATIVE
to set up the title-level recall, Patron Function Report, and the EMAILOP.
5.
Additional Business
There
will be a joint session at FSU on September 14 at 10:00 a.m.
One session will be for Millennium Serials and the other session will
be for reviewing the loan rules. Serials
and Circulation staff are invited to attend.
There
has been no answer from the directors concerning the proposal of cataloging
electronic resources. This will
be investigated further.
6.
EBSCO Presentation and Question Session
Two
sales representatives from EBSCO, Merrill Smith and David Goble,
made a presentation allowing time for a question and answer period.
The next release from EBSCO is due in December 2001 or January 2002.
Among the several changes, patrons will be able to move to the actual
articles more quickly with less clicks. If
you subscribe to the feature, you will be able to go directly to the sites
cited in articles.
There will also be space to put in library holdings.
7.
Adjournment
The
meeting adjourned at 1:35 p.m. with the next meeting scheduled for November 14
at FSU.
